Influenced by his two-year study abroad experience, Chengyu's mission as a filmmaker is to focus on the emotional lives of Asians and other minority groups living in foreign lands. He excels in using slow-paced narratives and audio-visual language to depict the feelings of loneliness and alienation experienced by characters in urban settings. Through his subtly emotional atmosphere, he offers a touch of solace to viewers amidst their busy lives. Chengyu's aim is not only to tell stories but to connect with his audience on a deeper, more intimate level, one frame at a time.
